THEATER PLAY “THE LEGEND OF BUCUR” AT THE SUȚU PALACE, JULY 19th 2016, FROM THE PREMIERE OF THE COMPETITION “MUSEUMS IN COLORS” LAUNCHED AT THE BUCHAREST MUNICIPLAITY MUSEUM, APRIL – MAY 2016

The Bucharest Municipality Museum welcomed children at the theater play “The Legend of Bucur”, staged by Artextract Association, on Tuesday, July 19th, at the Suțu Palace. The play, specially designed and staged for children, tells the story of the shepherd Bucur and the young lady Dâmboviţa, associated with the founding of Bucharest.

On this occasion, the museum awarded the children that took part in the competition “Museums in Colors”. On April 28th – May 25th 2016, the Bucharest Municipality Museum offered children aged 6 to 10 years old 2000 coloring leaflets with the picture of the Suțu Palace, the Filipescu-Cesianu House and the Theodor Aman Museum, which they used to enter the contest. The BMM museum educators collected and carefully studied the drawings in search of the best ones. “Museums in Colors” is part of BMM’s strategy to to familiarize children with cultural institutions and thus form future generations of public that are culturally-aware, informed and eager to develop and learn more.

Almost 100 people, adults and children, took part in the event.
