SUȚU PALACE AT THE FESTIVAL OF KOREAN CULTURE

The Bucharest Embassy of the Korean Republic (South Korea) organizes the third edition of the Festival of Korean Culture this year. The Festival will take place in Iaşi between the 22nd and the 23rd of June, afterwards continuing in Bucharest between June 24th and July 17th. The event is organized with the support of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iaşi, the “Mihai Eminesc” Central University Library of Iaşi, the Bucharest Municipality Museum – Suțu Palace – Bucharest, and the Romanian-American University of Bucharest.

This year, the festival stops for the very first time in Iaşi, where it will feature a series of Korean cultural events organized by the Embassy of Korea in partnership with the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iaşi: Korean film screenings, Korean calligraphy seminars, Korean dance classes, Hanji workshops (traditional hand-crafted Korean paper), Hanbok (traditional Korean garb) presentations, calligraphy workshops and Korean dance and music shows.

In Bucharest the Festival will present two special exhibitions featuring works of Korean calligraphy and Hanji items at the Bucharest Municipality Museum – Suțu Palace. These exhibitions are a follow-up to the traditional Korean music and dance classes, workshops and shows which will take place at the Romanian-American University between the 24th and the 25th of June.

The Hanji and Korean Calligraphy exhibitions will be open to visitors starting with June 25th 2016, 11:00, at the Bucharest Municipality Museum – Suțu Palace. Entrance is free of charge.
