The 20th edition of Romania’s International Photography Salon (RIPS) will take place on Tuesday, January 12th 2016, 18:00, at the Bucharest Municipality Museum (2 Ion C. Brătianu Street) as part of the event called “The Day of Romanian Photography”.
Considered to be the most important event for Romanian photography, with a history spanning more than half a century, Romania’s Salon has brought together each time works of the most important photographers in the world.
For this current edition, the organizers received 1960 photos from 240 photographers from 39 countries. The international jury – made of famous professional photographers such as Virgilio Bardossi (Italy), Daniel Bădescu (Romania) and Balasi Csaba (Romania) – selected 400 photos and awarded 38 medals and honorable mentions of the International Federation of Photographic Art (IFPA) and the Romanian Photographers Association (RPA).
We must highlight that this year’s edition of RIPS features 53 works by Romanian photographers, and the best results were scored by Nagy Lajos with a IFPA gold medal for “Running with the wind”, Alexandra Fira – RPA gold medal for “Autumn in my soul”, Ștefan Chirobocea – IFPA honorable mention for “Autumn pastel” and Bathory Zsigmond – IFPA honorable mention for “Warm rocks”.
During the exhibition opening all photos featured in the exhibition will be projected onto a screen and the winners were printed and will be displayed in an itinerated exhibition that will travel the country.
