The Bucharest Municipality Museum invites the public to access its Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/MuzeulMunicipiuluiBucuresti/ – on Monday, February 4th, at 18.00, to watch LIVE the launching event of the augmented reality app The Deep Sound of Space, designed by TCW and Peter Gate, followed by a short live performance of electronic music by Peter Gate, from his new album “3 6 9”.
THE DEEP SOUND OF SPACE PROJECT, initiated by Petru I. Pap a.k.a. Peter Gate, anthropologist, musician and visual artist, focuses on using sound, music and visuals through different applications of augmented reality, but also on live electronic performances which involve state of the art technology and innovating art. The Deep Sound of Space is a follow up to The Deep Sound of Maramureș, a first-rate quality cultural project (https://vimeo.com/191619171).
The app which spatializes music in augmented, dynamic and interactive reality, was created together with an IT team in Washington DC, TCW, coordinated by Will Copps together with Peter Gate.
The various sounds and instruments which make up the songs incorporated in the app are illustrated with different geometrical forms.
The animation and movement in space is triggered by the user’s movement which affects the sounds of the song and changes the way individual effects are applied, making every experience unique. This app uses the GPS and compass system of your phone.
Starting with the launch day, the public will be able to test the app at the Suțu Palace. For an ideal experience, headphones are recommended. The app was created by TCW under the coordination of Will Copps and Deep Sound. In the future, a series of other similar events are likely to follow, as the app will be launched in all the other museums in the Bucharest Municipality Museum structure.
