The 12th edition of the project 5 high-schools 5 museums has started. The project is dedicated to pupils in Bucharest and is supported by the Bucharest Municipality Museum. The launching event took place at the Technical College Mihai Bravu, on February 27th, 11:00.
Already a tradition among schools in the capital, 5 high-schools 5 museums is an educational project which encourages high-school pupils to attend cultural events. Until June, pupils from five more high-schools will benefit of free visits at five museums in Bucharest and will also be challenged in an online quiz competition.
Come and join us for the start of the 12th edition of the project together with ECDL ROMANIA and its partners, the Bucharest City-Hall and the Bucharest’s School Inspectorate, the “Grigore Antipa” Natural History Museum, the “Engr. Dumitru Furnică-Minovici” Museum of Old Western Art, the Bucharest Municipality Museum, the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum and the “King Ferdinand I” National Military Museum.
This year’s edition of 5 high-schools 5 museums, which will take place from February to June 2019, will involve 250 students from 5 high-schools in Bucharest: the Nicolae Iorga Theoretic High-School, the Nicolae Tonitza High-School of Fine Arts, the Victor Babeș National College, the Dinu Lipatii National College of Arts and the Mihai Bravi Technical College, the host of the launching event.
The five partnering museums which will challenge the students at an online quiz competition are: the “Grigore Antipa” Natural History Museum, the “Engr. Dumitru Furnică-Minovici” Museum of Old Western Art, the Bucharest Municipality Museum, the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum and the “King Ferdinand I” National Military Museum.
During the opening event, a second competition for pupils will be launched. The teenagers are encouraged to contribute to a social media page as much as possible, so that every high-school will promote one of the partnering museums through the cultural-educational activities they will take part in throughout the project. This way, they will stimulate the interest for visiting museums among their peers, teachers or friends.
The launching event of 5 high-schools 5 museums, the 12th edition, took place among the pupils and teachers involved in the current edition, as well as the five partnering museums, who will present the students the themes of the guided visits this year.
The event is organized and supported by ECDL ROMANIA with the support of the Bucharest Municipality School Inspectorate, the Bucharest City-Hall and the five partnering museums.
5 high-school 5 museums set out to innitiate a social epidemic of museum visits, designed as a competition between five high-schools in the Capital. Launched in 2008, the project had a positive impact among pupils and teachers and so the organizers and the partners were encouraged to continue. So far, 2 750 high-schoolers in 55 schools in Bucharest have enjoyed the opportunities offered by the project and 250 more will join them through the current edition.
