THE STAR-BROWED STAG – ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AT THE NICOLAE MINOVICI MUSEUM

During July and August 2017, children were invited to attend a creative educational program proposed by Artelier D Association – Projects for children together with the Bucharest Municipality Museum, which consisted of two parts:

  • The Star-Browed Stag: children explored animal representations on objects of art displayed in the museum and on the fountain in the park, they found out stories about animal themed stone sculptures in Romanian folk art. Through a staged puppet show the children discovered the legend of the Star-Browed Stag and, at the end, they created mixed-technique collages based on the patters on river stones.

  • The Sun and the Moon: explored cosmic and geometric motifs on wood objects and architectural elements. They found out the meaning of the gate, the fence and the bench in the traditional Romanian village. They discovered the legend of the Sun and the Moon through a puppet show and created stories based on these cosmic motifs.
