The Bucharest Municipality Museum organized a non-formal educational project at the “C.I. and C.C. Nottara” Museum, for children aged 6 to 12 years old, on May 14th – June 18th 2016. The classes took children on a journey through the world of stories and theatre and helped them develop their creativity, understand emotions and invent their own characters.
By taking part in the project “Children Tell Stories at the Nottara Museum” they discovered the meaning of optimism, empathy, perseverance, enthusiasm and curiosity. They learned how to better understand their feelings and how to share them with others in a positive manner. Coordinators: Grațiela Trocaru, counseling teacher, Daniela Dumitrescu and Corina Iliescu, museologists at the Bucharest Municipality Museum specialized on theatre. Starting from classic stories in the museum’s collection, the children discussed about their favorite characters and their feelings and features. During the second part, the children were encouraged to use their imagination and create their own stories and characters, which will materialize in a personalized book for each participant.
The programme is designed for families and was attended by 40 people.
