Specific theme: Interferences – Romanian & European Art
Through this symposium conducted in collaboration with other institutions, the Bucharest Municipality Museum aims to provide specialists with a platform for presenting the latest research in the field, to facilitate the communication of art historians and art specialists, at national and
international levels and to problematize topical themes, including conservation and restoration.
Presentations that reflect the work of theoreticians, historians, art critics, curators, conservators, restorers, as well as those of creative artists, consecrated or at the beginning of their artistic career, will be accepted.
Topics related to studies conducted by Romanian artists in the West (the Munich-Paris axis or the Italian centers), friendships between artists, travels or art works inspired by various cultural contacts can be approached. The presentations will be held in Romanian or English, but the abstracts will be bilingual.
Specialists interested in providing a presentation at the symposium are invited to submit a proposal by 30 of September 2019. The proposal will include the title of the paper, a summary of up to 500 words and an updated résumé. Documents will be sent via email to pinacoteca@muzeulbucurestiului.ro. The selection will be conducted by the Scientific Council of the Symposium.
